Family concert yesterday was a huge success, kudos to the concert committee, and of course, the splendid emcees of the night. HAHAHHAHA! had a wonderful time working with Brandon the co-emcee. I've never embarrassed myself on such a large scale, ever. :)

The first day of MCM 2.2 was good. Time didn't fly. Our funny lecturers made up for the sucky modules.
(And if any of you guys happen to wonder why yours truly is trying to shed as much weight as possible now, its all because of that damned pair of jeans.
yeap, i blew a hundred bucks on another piece of denim. bleargh.
which explains why i should do my wallet some justice. lol.)
and so i sat through the lectures, reunited with coursemates whom i have not met for two months, came home, and went to the library to borrow some books (THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES!) i swear i'd never get around to finishing.
blah lah lah blah.
it's so refreshing to have a high strung lecturer for a change. he's probably the only guy who's capable of putting the word "fun" into every two or three sentences. got PhD one leh.
DAMN CUTE, especially when he got really excited over some videos he showed us.
"WANT TO WATCH IT AGAIN???? LET'S WATCH IT AGAIN!!!!!!!" (and i'm not kidding about the excessive use of punctuation marks.)
so looking forward to tuesday lectures :D

Music camp was fantabulous. I've never screamed so much in my entire life.
Thank you annabel for the to-die-for caterpillar, the new addition to my bed. Official name's "kuih", courtesy of my sister, after the kuih i've always craved for on saturday mornings. heh.
okay, back to the camp. Lots of new faces, and some old ones. and i'm officially dubbed as "Harry Potter" and "LegoGirl" again. In four days, I've:
- fought over a banana peel hidden beneath some flour
- become gay. zomgwtfbbq. "Watashi GAYY des!"
- scared the guts out of some people.
- un-scared the guts out of other people.
- become a proactive member of Maphia Infinity 8 Flying Fish. (Yeah, the name makes so much sense.)
- built my first (and second, and third, and fourth, and fifth) sparkler rocket.
- become brave all of a sudden and engage in some form of communication with another being. you all know i'm shy and reserved the rest of the time. HAWHAWAW.
right, enough bull. photos shall come when i feel like it. :D

Today was a good day. Ngee Ann Kongsi donated 15million to the school. We played two songs while they indulged in heavenly food.
We had some of their leftover caviar. yes.

and on to prawn fishing with sister and her boy. fifteen huge prawns in three hours! :D

and then we manage to convince leelin to believe that we made reservations at some high end restaurant for dinner...

...and brought her to Macdonalds where 20 of her friends (primary sch, secondary sch, poly mates) were waiting.

Office rant of an office temp.

I am invisible. Just like ever other day, I remain in sight of all the jostling humans in this office, but am constantly out of their minds. I am free to do whatever I want, but the imaginary leash holds on tight. Sometimes I think I'm lucky. I'm getting paid to stare into space amidst all the busy people. And then the thought jolts me from my tiny reverie- this could be my future.
I can hardly imagine myself three years down the road, living the life of a nine-to-six office robot. Yes, robots. Man, I hate that term. Who could imagine most intelligent of all creatures that roam the earth are, in fact, bounded by the inclination to work towards the big M? What is success? It's a status measured by the amount money you earn. We humans are reduced to calculative bastards who hunt and kill for success. Talk about being primitive.
I spend every weekday in this little box. The other occupants barely recognise my very existance. Once or twice I am tasked with some filing, some data entry. Right now, I'm just sitting comfortably in my chair and typing away while some data gets transferred to a round, metal object (they call it a DVD). The notion of performing brainless tasks alone kills me. Truth to be told, I hate sitting around with nothing to do. I need to run, scream, jump, or even prance around to keep myself occupied. Reduced brain activity can really bore the heck out of me. Trapped in what they call an office, there is nothing left for me to do (other than to rant to a computer- for God's sake!)my best to look preoccupied. Reason being so they will not see me playing with the swivel chair or fiddling with my electronic music-playing device one time too many...

And then I went for lunch. :D

Today's good too. Outing to East Coast with chinaboy, ira, mel, peggy and ph. my butt hurts from too much cycling, and my face hurts like dory's did the last time we went fishing.
Didn't manage to find Aunty Mary, she's gone home, so I gave Uncle Hero a curry puff and the rest to the guys. haha.

A splendid weekend spent :) i am now happy and ready for the mundane office job that awaits me tomorrow.

And it turned out I had an inborn talent for data entry and filing. :D
They gave me a beautiful pass that admits me through any door in the building, AND I HAVE MY OWN COMPANY EMAIL ADDRESS, DESK, COMPUTER, AND PHONE!!!!!!!!! WAHHHH HAHAHHAHAHAHA.. (talk about cheap thrills)

Believe it or not, working in an office sucks big time. I was totally grossed out at how Singaporeans can sit through 8 hours every day in front of a monitor. Especially after lunch. The food just settles at our love handles, refusing to budge. I'm so gonna expand :(
Yeah, I got the job, thank you very, very, very much, lin. So that leaves me with no room to complain because it's my dream temp job. hawhaw.
This may be the last time I'll ever want to work in an office in my life...
and so, I've came up with the revised list of my future job prospects :D
